Finally Picked Up A New MacBook

I finally bought a 2019 16" MacBook Pro today. I'm absolutely blown away by this machine! The screen is stunning and it's so fast compared to my old machine! My last MacBook was a 2012 13" MacBook Pro. I was waiting for a 14" MacBook Pro, but in the end I decided to go for this, you only live once right! So glad I did now 👌🏻

Having only used the 2018 MacBook Pro in work from time to time over the past couple of years I'm loving this laptop. I never liked the butterfly keyboard and the new scissor switch keyboard feels great 😁

While I'm setting the MacBook up would you would recommend installing anything? I'll be mostly using the Mac for web browsing, photo editing and this will now be my main machine.

You will love your new MBP. I have one - got it at launch. It is just the perfect machine as far as I am concerned. Always works. Zero problems. Love the display, speed, typing experience, and reliability.

@Mike__ you are my mirror. I got the same Mac in Space Grey this week (got it through the refurb store though), and my name is also Mike.

Like you, I am also impressed with this machine in comparison to my old 2012 15". I've used some of the butterfly keyboard machines at work, but this one is SOOO much better, and other than the key travel it feels very much like the 2012 did.

I got one too! It’s been I use it to play games aside from work and it’s a pleasure. And the. Keyboard is night in day difference.

After 24 hours using the machine to do some of my daily tasks here's what I've found so far ;

I was worried that the laptop may be a little too big but so far I've found it to be perfect. Due to constantly working on a computer all day my eyes are not what they were 5 years ago haha!

The Apple ecosystem for me is perfect! The fact everything syncs to all of my devices is brilliant.
To put it into perspective, before my old machine died it was struggling to run iMessage and when browsing web pages the machine would freeze!

I checked earlier today and to my surprise my old machine was actually older than I thought. It was a mid 2009 13" Intel Core 2 duo MacBook Pro! I know, very old! It did so well though it was worth every penny I paid back then!

I'm also very impressed with the battery so far. I have read for the first couple of days the battery performance won't be at optimal performance due to indexing.

Whilst I'm very impressed with how crisp and clear the screen is I'm blown away by how good the speakers are. I don't think I've ever heard laptop speakers this good!

I'm currently still installing the programs I need to use so I haven't really been able to test the performance of the machine. All I can say is that it's extremely snappy and I've not seen it lag in anyway whilst using it.

When I've not been using the machine i've been closing the lid and letting the machine 'sleep'. I'm sure this is what most people recommend? Correct me if I'm wrong.

All in all I'm one happy customer so far 👨🏻‍💻
