Finally shipped, but a question

The good news is that my iPhone shipped yesterday (Saturday) and is scheduled for delivery by 9/21!

According to the tracking the phone will be in transit for 3 days. Every iPhone I've ever gotten during launch was shipped to me over night. Since when did apple start shipping iPhones via 2-3 day?

Edit// for what it is worth, and not surprisingly, my iPhone is shipping from China. Even then it's always been overnight shipping.

I guess I thought in the past I've gotten them overnight. But maybe that's just me getting a late shipment notification or something.
