I'm looking for a good finance app for iPhone that has a desktop counterpart, something like Splash Money but with better reviews.
Any suggestions?

iBank has apps for Mac and iPhone, and will be releasing an iPad version soon, that all interact.

I use Mint.com (iPhone and iPad app and the webpage on the Mac) and every now and then I get fed up with some little thing and say "that's it, I'm gonna find something better!" (The usual complaint that gets to me: No Mac app.)

This has happened a couple of times and each time I spend hours reading reviews and then just end up sticking with Mint. It seems there is no perfect answer in this genre of software but as near as I can figure Mint is the best 'all-around' thing out there.

Thanks for all the input. I've experimented with Mint before but never really used it as a checkbook register (reconciling, etc.) Will it work for this as well?

I am between PC and Mac currently, though I plan on ditching all of my PC's. What a hassle! So, the web-based attribute is appealing.

Do you use a check debit-card? The biggest problem there is that Mint picks up on things like card holds (like at gas stations or hotels) and it usually erases them when they're released, but not always. There are certainly times when you have to compare Mint to your bank's website and say "oh, Mint still has this but it's not real" and then just manually exclude it from Mint.

It doesn't happen a lot, but it happens enough that you need to watch for it.

What I mostly use Mint for is budgeting. Like, I have $x reserved for groceries. And $x reserved for gas. And so on. I then assign items to the proper budgets and it allows me to see if I'm spending too much in one area for the month. Then I can decide to spend less in an optional category (home improvements) if I end up going over in a non-optional category (power bill).

That's the primary thing I find Mint useful for over just using my bank's website. I'm mostly spending all my time in the 'Budgets' tab over all the others.

I use pocket money. Relatively simple on desktop at the moment but accomplished on. iPhone/iPad

I use pocket money currently and was unaware that it had a desktop app. Can I reconcile my account on the desktop?

So far, I like this app the best. I really like the positive reviews (except for the syncing issues which all apps apparently have) and the way it is focused on budgeting. I have a couple of questions that aren't being answered by the reviews that perhaps you can answer for me:
1. Will it sync between two iPhones utilizing drop box WITHOUT being installed on a Mac (I don't have a Mac that is running currently) ?
2. What is the difference between Moneywell and Moneywell 2?

Thanks for the tips!
