I know, I know, the whole match-the-look thing may have gone too far, still, I would like my mobile phone to match Unibody MBP's aesthetics, i.e. Black and Matt Metal

Currently I have an Samsung P300, which I bought 2 1/2 years ago, surprisingly its colour match MBP's one. But after extensive use, it is nearly worn out.

My question is, can I find a Phone that match sexy MBP's colour and "feel"?

My preference:

  • Case colour, black and matt metal
    Simple Functionality, Responsive UI
GSM (to use in the UK)
    Slim
    Camera is not essential
    Touch Screen is not essential

Any idea, guys? All inputs apperciated :)

any pre 3g iphone has the aesthetic you are after. mine looks lovely next to my unibody mbp

Try the Sony Ericsson W890i. Available in black or silver. A really slim, lightweight metal phone that really matches the aesthetic of the MBP (or of my MB :D).

emmm Sony Ericsson would be my first choice if I wasn't tied to iTunes (not complaining)

the whole Walkman thing is just so last century, even the guy who brought Walkman into the UK says so.

Well I guess I can use other functions and ignore the Walkman player.

nokia 6300 would be a good 2nd choice, I never own a Nokia phone before, will be interesting to see.

Guys, do you find it strange that NO phone manufacturer will make a phone with minimum functions and minimalism design ??

If I have the resources I will definitely make one, like a MUJI phone.

All pre-3G iPhones look exactly the same ^^ they just have different capacity.

And only Apple makes iPhones ^^

Oh I missed out the "i" ..... I thought it was weird to say any pre-3G phone is the same

Iphone 1g or mabey a nokia 6300 that seams to fit the bill

+1 - First Gen iPhone will look lovely.

The thing is, if I didn't buy the iTouch a year ago, I would go for it, now my iTouch serves as a wireless numerical pad ;)

Thanks for the advice, guys

How about the Nokia E71? It comes in two colors.

oh for the love of god get a phone that does all of what you want it to. "Matching" with your laptop should be of the least concern. Keep in mind that the phone is very much so a part of your life kind of thing, so find something good in a store or something, and if it matches, great, if not... well, it's not like people actually care.

Sorry, and not meaning to hate or anything, but Apple's recent form-over-function trend is deeply annoying and makes me pissed at those that play in to that...

It's not just Apple. Form over function is just something people seem to love to do.

Oh for god's sake, do you care that much about what other people think? Does it matter if they match? Who the F cares. This extreme form over function is starting to bug me. Why do you care about what other people think? You probably won't even seen them again. Stop showing off and do something well worth your time, instead of trying to match your laptop and phone. This is the most pointless thread I've ever seen, and I've seen a few where ppl didn't know what a hard drive or where the power button was.

Oh for pig sake, do I ever mention I care what other people think I met on the street?!

The whole point is, I want my phone to match my laptop, and I enjoy looking at them.

Didn't I mention it has to be a SIMPLE phone?!, simple means no fancy touchy screen or camera that kind of ****. Form over function? I don't even care about fancy functions.

SnowLeopard2008, if you can't interpret english, why bother replying in the first place? Stop showing off your ignorance.

Nokia 6500 Slide, in either black or silver.

I had one right before I got my iPhone, one of the best Nokias I've ever used. They're relatively cheap now I believe, probably free on many contracts

That looks great, it's a shame that the candy bar version does not come in black & sliver

will pop down to my O2 shop to check it out, cheers.
