Whats the best way to see what is hogging up harddrive space?

im looking to flush my mac of unused software and files.

Are there any hidden folders that store information? or is it all in the applications folder?

There are programs for it, but they can cause problems if you don't know what you're doing.

Try clearing out iMovie files, all those copied video parts can use up a lot of memory. Other than that, just uninstall apps you don't use, delete films and TV shows you don't watch, delete music you don't listen to, etc.

Disk Inventory X and Grand Perspective are both good apps that will show you what's eating up your drive space.
