Find iPhone with swapped SIM-card?

Hi,

I was hoping to find out how much of a chance I of finding my phone again after losing it the other day.

I've been checking "Find iPhone" regularly, but no result. So I wonder, with everything turned on in "Find iPhone", will I be notified when anyone connects the phone to the internet, even with a different SIM-card? Or does the phone need to be turned on with my SIM-card in it?

Once the phone connect to the internet either by wifi or sim card with data then you will be notified.
Most likely they tried restoring it and are stuck at the activation screen that asks for your Apple ID and password. If that is the case you will never see it pop up or getting tracked again.
Make sure you never remove the device from your icloud account so it will remain useless to whoever stole it.
