Howard2k macrumors 603 Mar 10, 2016 6,455 6,898 May 29, 2016 #2 Yeah that sounds right. The Macbook uses triangulation of the wifi signals to estimate the location. The iPhone uses GPS. I guess the more densely populated your area is (in terms of wifi) the more accurate it would be.
