iCloud Find My - Help Me Understand This Oddity

Here's Find My on my wife's iPhone. It clearly shows that my AirPods are "Michael's Devices". (My wife's name is "Mam", mine is "Michael".)

Here's Find My on my iPhone. It clearly shows the my AirPods are "Mam's Devices".

• Why is that?
• Why are they listed twice under both names?
• Why is their location found on my wife's phone but not on mine?
• Why don't her AirPods show up on either phone?

AFAIK, my wife has never worn or otherwise used my AirPods. She has a mild cleanliness fetish and has pasted a clear label on her AirPod case so that neither of us will ever make the mistake of using any but our on AirPods.
