Left my iPad at the gym at work, I just located it using find iPhone app. It has all my bank details on so I used the erase option, now the device no longer shows up on find my iPhone?....eh?....does erasing data prevent it from transmitting its location?...obviously I wouldn't have done that if I had known!

Is Erase the same as Remote Wipe?....thats crazy that if you want to delete sensitive data it stops the app from working so you can never locate it again?

Yes, it's the same thing. Once erased you can't track it any longer.

It tells you exactly that when you click the button.

Once the device is erased it's blank. Keeping the iCloud login would defeat the point. Still, no harm done - you know where it is and you'll know the warning is true for next time.

No it doesn't. There was no message warning that you would no longer be able to track the device.

Strange. The button did not look like this?
