My MacBook Pro was stolen a few days ago, and seeing as a t was a well used late 2011 model, my data being secure was more important than me getting my computer back, so I locked it had it display a message and selected to have it erased.
I just got an email saying that the erase had been initiated. As I have never used this function before, I have a few questions about it.
1. Can they just hold the power button down and force it to shut down and prevent it from erasing?
2. After the erase, is the MBP still locked or can they now use it like a clean MBP and will the message that I had displayed still be displayed?
3. I had Windows 7 installed via bootcamp, will that partition be erased as well?
4. Is there anything else I can do now?
Thanks for any info you folks might have!
