Recommend to keep "find my iPhone" on all the time. Does "find my iphone" use much cellular data when left on with either the device looking, or the device being looked for?

Yes, recommended to keep it on. Can't turn it on remotely, so once you lose your phone you're hosed if it wasn't on.

No, it doesn't use a discernable amount of data in my experience. Maybe it'd matter if you were on some 50MB data plan, but who uses an iphone with a ridiculous data limit like that.
