iPhone 13 Pro Max Find my notifications turning off

I’ve been trying to use the find my app and left behind feature lately but I’m having some trouble. Every couple days it stops working and I have to go into settings app notifications section and scroll down to find my. I always find the toggle clicked off yet I’m not the one turning it off. How do I get them to stay on. Any help is appreciated as this is driving me crazy.

That happened to one of the devices in my household too. We’d been using family Find My for years and it turned itself off all by itself. Took me a day to figure out what was going on. It’s stayed on since but I’ve noticed that Find My in iOS 15 on a brand new iPhone 13 is much slower and less reliable than older devices. An iPhone 7 on iOS 14 pops up location more reliably. Nowadays half the time I get location not found and I have to switch to device view instead of person view to trigger it. I guess this is called “Progress”
