I want to find a dvd ripper for mac tool,it better could support the output: ipod and apple tv, anyone could give me some advices here?
Thanks advance!

HandBrake rips DVDs and converts them to various video formats. MtR just rips DVDs, you would need a separate program to do the conversion.

So Handbrake does "everything" you need to "backup" commercial DVDs? Rip and burn? But MtR rips them, and you could burn the resulting file with, say, iDVD?

Not iDVD. You'd want something like Toast. MTR rips the DVD to a TS_Video file.

Would you use a product like Handbrake to simply backup data files to a DVD? I also just downloaded Apple's backup utility, ver. 3.0. Maybe that will work for me as well.
