Finder Annoyance

Does anyone know how I can make the finder's drag and dropping of files within a folder more like launchpad?
I primarily view the finder in icon view and for the longest time I can't move files between one another without manually moving them out of the way first.

The best option is probably to use one of the different views for the finder, or to open up multiple finder windows at once. If you really want to keep using the icon view and don't like multiple finder windows being open, then you could have a look at TotalFinder.
