When I hit the back button in finder, is there a way to continue where I left off rather than have it reset to the top of the window(like in windows :p)?

do you understand what I'm saying? sounds kind of vague, I know, but I don't know how to explain it any better.

EDIT: ok, say I'm clicking around in folders. I double click on a folder and when I realize its not the folder I want, I hit the back button and rather than it return back to the folder I just double clicked, the finder window resets to the top. I then have to scroll all the way down to continue where I left off.

If I understand what you're saying (and I'm not sure I do)..

Use List view, rather than Column view.

Then the "Back" button functions like you expect it to.

Are you doing this in column view? That would take you back one step for each click of the back button.

Here is an example in column view.

Figure 1 is the original window and file folder I navigated to.

Figure 2 is the result of hitting the back button.

Figure 3 the result of hitting the back button again.

Yeah, in column view its not a problem. I'm so used to icon view though...

guess I should try getting used to column view.
