I've been limping along for two years now, trying to wait for the new rMBP releases. I installed RAM and a SSD and everything has worked well.

But, two days ago Finder began to behave erratically. Files folders are either non responsive when I try to click on them or they bring up individual files that I didn't click or the ribbon along the bottom where the individual apps reside gets distorted and appears at various places on my screen. Also, new Finder menus appear instead of the files from a particular folder that I clicked on. In short, Finder has been rendered useless. Rebooting fixes things for a few minutes, but then the trouble is replicated.

I thought maybe it was the GPU going - it was replaced under warranty by Nvidia years ago, or the logic board. But, I can get on the internet and all of the individual apps seem to open all right. The problem seems to be confined to Finder.

With months left before an update, I'm trying to see if this is something that can be fixed cheaply and easily. I need this laptop to work until the new MacBook Pro's are released. So, I'm hoping someone can give me some direction.
