Finder bug??

Tell me if this is a bug in Finder...

As you can see, I have my Finder Preference set to not show me file extensions, but clearly, every file is showing up with the file extension.

Not a bug. That checkbox enables ALL icons to SHOW file extensions no matter if you hid the extensions or not. You can edit a file name from "This File.jpg" to "This File" and it will still keep the .jpg extension but, hidden from view... This is what "Show All File Extensions" is used for. Does that make any sense at all?
