I always keep my Finder in column view. I like to keep the Applications column expanded, and a couple other columns. If I restart the Finder or my Mac, the column widths are back at their default settings. Is there any way to change this so my set widths stay that way?

I get the same problem. The windows do not stay the same width even without restarting anything. If I just close a window I have resized, it goes back to the size I had previous to that (which I'm guessing is the default size) the next time I open it. No idea what to do. :(

Just after you have re-sized the window, move it by dragging it at the top. Then close it. When you re-open it, it'll be as you want it.

Can't help with the columns problem tho', which is very annoying, i agree.
