Finder crashes when trying to compress a file

All of a sudden the finder is now crashing whenever I right click on a folder or file attempting to compress it with the archive utility. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

With what Mac OS X version does this happen?
Does it also happen in another, even temporarily created, user account?

Ok, now it looks like it's only happening with a specific file or if the file is in a folder.

Ok, it's actually crashing when I attempt to zip a file without an extension or if that file without an extension is in the folder that I'm attempting to compress.

Finder does not always show extensions, unless you told it so in Finder > Preferences > Advanced.

To find out what kind of file you have problems with, even though no extension is shown, open the GET INFO window via CMD+I while the file is selected.
