I've noticed recently that when my Macbook wakes from "sleep" (in the morning or after I've been away for the day), Finder has locked up. The easiest way to remedy this is to unplug my external (and I get the message "Do not unplug...you may have caused a nuclear meltdown...etc.") and let it go back from there.

I think this is related to a recent Transmission upgrade (another issue entirely), but I'm not really sure how to verify. I've run disk checks on the external, and everything seems to be fine.

I'd love any info or guidance folks can give me.

Thanks much.

Not generally. If I'm downloading/uploading something I let it run while I'm away. This has been my practice for the last few months, and it hasn't been a problem until just recently.
