I noticed that the image dimensions (not file size!) shown in Finder are not updated after editing the image.
Here are the details: open Finder, Show View Options, and mark "Show Item Info". For each image, its dimensions are shown below the icon (see below). I've also selected Show Preview.

After that I edit the image, change its size and crop it a bit. After saving here are the results.

The image was scaled/cropped to 3840x2160 pixels, as shown in the preview, but its dimensions are not changed. It seems that the original dimensions are cached somewhere and not updated. Any suggestions on what to do? It is not a huge issue but a bit annoying.

I've seen a similar problem sometimes with file sizes. I close the window containing the file, then reopen it, and Finder then shows correct sizes. Try that.

You could also try unticking "Show Item Info", letting the window update, then reticking it.

Thanks for the suggestion, but closing the window and reopening it does not change the issue.
Relaunching Finder does, though.
