This morning, my drag and drop in finder stopped working. I can drag a file, but I can't drop it anywhere. If I hover over a folder, the folder will open, but releasing the button doesn't "drop it". It doesn't seem specific to a drive -- I can't drag and drop on any drive.
It's not the mouse - I've tried it with two mice, and the built in trackpad.
I've deleted all the preferences for finder, launchservices, etc.
Logged in and out, rebooted, etc.
Fixed disk permissions. Verified my drive.
This appeared to be a common problem some time ago. However, I don't see anything recent, and I'm running the latest Snow Leopard.
Any Ideas?
edit:
Never mind. It WAS the mouse - the middle mouse wheel/button was stuck. Somehow the state of the middle mouse button being pressed survived unplugging the USB mouse and plugging another one in. Unplugging the mouse and rebooting solved it.
