Hi

I am trying to set up a second user on my G5 - can create OK, but when I switch into the new user, the machine hangs, and the cursor becomes the nice colorful spinning disk.

The only way out is to reboot...

Anybody seen this on 10.3.2? I have lots of free RAM and disk, and both users have admin privileges...

Regards

Shaun

A similar thing happens to me sometimes. When I start up the machine, it launches the dock and the menu bar items, but not the finder. It hangs with a beachball. I usually launch System Preferences from the Dock.. and only afterwards the Finder launches.

Hi

Hmm - I can't launch anything, the beachball kicks in immediately :-(

Interestingly enough, the dock has 2 icons (finder and trash) and 7 or 8 large question marks for the other icons...

Can I do this from the command line - I miss good old useradd and usermod...
