Everytime I click on the finder-> help? THe help window tries to load and after a few sec, it closes automatically.

Anyone knows why is this happening?

I've restarted my powerbook and repair permissions and it doesn't help.

I run different profiles on the computer, other profiles are fine.

SO how do I solve this?

Deleting the following should fix it:

  • ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.help.plist
  • ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.helpui.plist
  • ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.helpviewer.plist
  • ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.helpui/

Thanks. I deleted the first 3 and it worked. Couldn't find the 4th. Anyway you know why is this happening?

I don't know the exact cause, all I know is that it's due to a corruption in those files. Unfortunately it's a very common problem, I've seen it asked on these forums probably at least 20 times, and it's also happened to me a couple of times.
