Finder help (views)

Ok.. i somehow screwed up my finder window when it opens. If I have no windows open and use Command -> N for a new window it opens to my users folder but looks like below. How do I get it back to opening at the default window with the Favorites, Devices, Shared stuff on the left and the View options at the top. I can use Go -> Home from the bar and it opens correctly. I have no idea what I did to cause this

While you have the messed-up window open, go to View Options (command+J is a quick way to invoke it) and check the settings there. Though there's no simple way to revert it to the defaults in that dialog (besides manually setting it to the defaults you've chosen), there are ways to force Finder to reset its view settings involving deleting hidden .DS_Store files.

Yes, I've tried overall Finder settings and folder settings for my user which is what defaults when opened. Still no change when using command+N to open a new window

I also tried restore defaults with OnyX and that didn't make changes either
