I'm on an iMac 2015, 8GB Ram. Big Sur, latest upgrade. It runs fine with apps, but Finder is a real headache. Moving files takes forever. I mean like many minutes. The rainbow wheel spinning away. Copying files if not longer. It starts by saying "Preparing to copy files" and does not come back for minutes. Opening a folder shows a Blank folder for up to a few minutes if there is a lot of content. Up to a minute for a blank folder. It's almost unusable in this state. iCloud brings files up and down no problem, but the moment I go near Finder, it all goes to pot.
Is there some way of fixing this? I see from searching that people have been having similar problems for years! So surely there's a fix somehere.

I also have a Mac Mini, and a MBP. No issues at all! Just this iMac.
