Finder Issues

Okay, I don't know why my finder is opening up like this now. I've looked in the finder preferences and nothing has changed it back to the way it use to be.

does going to the view menu and selecting show status bar/side bar not make a permanent fix?

View -> Show Toolbar

You haven't told us how you normally have it set, but have a look in the View menu in the Finder.

You could show the Toolbar, Side bar, Status bar & path bar from there.

I'm assuming the issue is is that when he tries to select show toolbar etc nothing happens, or every time he reopens finder it reverts to this state.

Thank you everyone for the replies. Yes, I should have been more clear. I have cinch installed on my computer and when use it with finder, my side bar keeps disappearing

View > Show side bar works until I use cinch on it....

Maybe you should try BetterSnapTool instead.
