finder keeps crashing

Hi,

I'm a mac os X newbie. Since a crash, after I log in finder keeps crashing.
Since finder keeps restarting every 10s, it is very hard to work with the system.

I tried deleting the prefs files, but no help. Maybe I deleted the wrong ones?

I could make another user, with this new user I could log in without any problems.

I just upgraded to leopard, (10.5.0) and then ran the software update and updated to 10.5.5

within about 5 hours every application I opened would crash, so I restarted. When I restarted, the finder problem you described with very similar crash reports started happening. I can log on fine as another user (and thankfully I have a backup admin user set up) but it's a pain and I need to figure out how to fix this.

Hi John,

Since I did not find a proper solution back then, I just created a new user, copied all necessary files from my old account to this new account and changed the owner on them. After deleting the original account, I even changed the login to the original one.

I haven't had any problem since
