Does anyone have any idea why finder keeps cycling me out of whatever app I am working in. It does not close the app, but no matter if I am typing or clicking it goes to finder then I can click back in my app and continue. 20-30 seconds later it does the same thing. It started about 2 weeks ago when I was surfing the web. I got a message about a dangerous site. Is it possible that I got a virus?

This is highly likely not to be a virus - this is because there isnt a single virus that is known to be in the wild that targets OS X. There is a single trojan, but that can only be caught if you installed pirated copies of CS4 or iWork '09.

Did you install anything near the time when the problem started?

Have you:
Repair permissions
Repair disk

Do you have Stuffit AVR installed? Or you on 10.4.11?

Sounds like you are having a similar issue to this thread.

Open System Preferences - Open Stuffit AVR - Press stop.

Thanks for the fix

That definitely did it. Thanks for paying attention. Don't know how that got started. You rock. Enjoy your day in the UK.
