Hi.

Is there a way to get a side-click (back and forward as in an internet page) ... can a mouse move through finder folders?

If I side click can I go up and down folders?

Is there a way to trigger this?

Thanks, ste.

If your mouse has software that allows you to map keyboard keys to certain buttons, I guess you could try mapping the arrow keys to those buttons, since those keys allow you to move through folders in Finder.

I use a Logitech MX Master 3 mouse and by default two of the left buttons will go forward and back in Finder.

Thnx so much for your help.

My mouse has no software as far as I can tell, it is just a cheap Win 11 one I carried over when I changed.

I thought boom! Logitech MX 3 when you mentioned it Weaselboy but as I check it out I soon found out it was £110+

That's just WAY over what I'd ever consider paying for a mouse (cheapskate I know lol)

If I get my hand on a spare £100 I buy XRP.

Am I doing the right thing, probably not, but I just don't know how else I'm going to afford a Masserati.

Thanks for your help guys, all the best, ste.

Yes. LinearMouse will do this. It's called universal back/forward button. My Superlight's back/forward buttons works on Finder for me after installing LinearMouse. It can also completely disable mouse acceleration.

Thnx Bench!

LinearMouse works perfectly, can go back and forth in the Finder windows.

Appreciate it!

Ste.
