I installed MacFuse and a driver (ntfs-3g) on my MacBook to access my Vista partition. After the installation of the driver I restarted, logged on and to my surprise found no menu bar. Finder will no longer open and my drives will not show up. I tried creating a second user account to see if it was just mine that went a bit screwy, did the some on the second account.

From what I have read there is a script within the install image of ntfs-3g, but I cannot access the image because nothing will show on my desktop. I tried to access the image from terminal but I get an error saying that an unexpected "(" was found every time I try and access it. I would simply reinstall OS X but my Time Machine drive is currently an hour away and thats a bit too far with gas being so high.

If you guys have an insight on remedying this problem I'd greatly appreciate it. I've found my Mac to be very reliable, its the squiggly organic bit that uses it thats the trouble. ;)
