I'm no longer able to stream my movies from my Synology DS1512 NAS. I've poked around the forums and Google and it looks like many people complained about the Finder locking up. And that's what's happening to me too. I see that Finder is not responding, along with VLC or Quicktime as well. I've tried the fixes to resolve the Finder issue, but that didn't help. I thought to upgraded to El Capitan, but looks like the Finder issue leaked into that version too.

I tried to connect to the NAS with afp and smb. But I have the issue in both. The issue is so bad, that I have to kill the Finder, but after I kill it I can no longer bring it back up. I have to hard power down.

Can anybody shed some light on this or lead me in the right direction. It's so frustrating that I can't stream my videos anymore, especially since that's my main storage. Something changed and I don't know what, because at one time it was working flawlessly.

I tested on my Windows machine, and I have no issues accessing the NAS. I tried also with my Macbook Pro and I had the same issues. Just wanted to eliminate issues with the NAS.

Cheers,
