My grandson (who shall remain nameless) changed the finder permissions on an USB external drive. This drive now mounts (a warning shows when drive is disconnected) but doesn't show up in the finder. I can't change the permissions unless I can get it to show up in the finder. I've also connected the USB drive to my MacBook Pro running 10.5 to no avail. I've used Unix (5.1d) on an Alpha box so I wouldn't be afraid to try to fix under Terminal emu. I have quite a few files I would like to get access/keep so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

Please allow your grandson to have a name. He needs one for school, to get a driver's license, etc. ;)

Insert the USB drive and open a Finder window. Does it show up in the Sidebar under Devices? If so, I think you should be able to Get Info on it.
