Finder refuses to remember window preferences

Hi,

Just got a new MBP and i am setting some viewing prefs for my finder.
I always use column view, so i checked this in the window prefs.
After a reboot however, the system has forgotten all about it and keeps showing the windows in icon view :confused:

How can i resolve this? I already did a PRAM zapp but nothing's changed.
