Hello, well it began to happen recently. If i open my external drive (they are always plugged in) from my desktop and for example set the window size and the icons to show by class, it works fine. After some time (didn't notice how much) if i open any of my external drives again their window state like size and icon view is restored to default: small window and icons by name.. It's kinda boring. Any solution to this?

Yes for both the questions. One drive is on USB and the other is plugged in on Firewire.
Well, I was having the same problem with a flash drive. The solution was to reformat it. If that's not it, I don't have another idea for you. Sorry.
