I upgraded to Mojave a few weeks ago, and searching the Finder has been a bit confusing. When I launch Find using command-F, I get not one but two search-input boxes.

The one at the top right doesn't return any results. The one below the toolbar, however, provides results as expected.

Why does opening a Finder window now give me two search boxes, and why does only one of them seem to produce any results? I could be wrong, but I don't remember it being this way in High Sierra or earlier.

It's been a couple of weeks since I first posted this. I'm surprised that nobody replied, as I figured others out there must have experienced the same issue. So, I'm bumping this in the hopes that someone will see it and have the answer.
