I'd be grateful if someone could help me out here on this rather menial but annoying problem I have.
My setup is that I have 2 internal hard drives in my Macbook Pro via Optibay. On one hard drive is one folder--Media--in which two folders reside (Music and Videos). The other HD houses my OS and home folder.
The Media folder--remember its on an HD where the main OS isn't situated--is linked in the sidebar.
Attached are 3 images. It shows how in the first image, often after rebooting or a period of time, the Media icon changes to a default File icon. The second image is just to give you an idea of what the folder structure is, and the third image is an example of how it should be when I've fixed it--which I do so by going to the folder, selecting Get Info, selecting the 'File' icon and using the copying command. At this point it is 'updated' and returns to its proper icon.
The icon is from Candybar--I just copy and pasted it onto the folder.
NB I have this problem only with the media folder, not the music and movies folder within it, even though they too have custom Candybar icons, and are aliased in my home folder itself (4th image).
Any help on this mundane issues is appreciated!
Thanks
Tom
