FINDER SIDEBAR SHARED - quick question

Hi I have other macs appearing in my finder under 'shared' ;

I read previous posts, I've gone to the Preferences - Internet & Wireless - Sharing ---- File Sharing, where I changed my computer name to Stephen Hawking.

My question is: have I appended only the name responsible for the sharing, so everyone similarly to me seeing others can now see Stephen Hawking; or is the name of my computer changed in overall. I understand that The hard disc's name remains the same...??????

Only your sharing name should be affected. Hard drive and everything else remains the same.
