I'm getting tired of this bug:
I setup symlinks to my ext hdd for the user root folders like Downloads, Documents, etc. I also right clicked this ext hdd and set it to be hidden from the sidebar, but still show other ext hdds I plug in (flash drives etc).
This works great except for when a folder like downloads is in the sidebar, and I open a .dmg for example, the ext hdd periodically unhides its self from the sidebar list. Its very annoying because if I right click and hide it again, after I restart, it's back in the list. The only way to hide it for a while again is to open finder prefs a deselect all the sidebar items and re-add them.
Wish Apple would squash this rare bug.
