Finder sidebar

How do I remove an item from the Finder Sidebar? I meant to drop it in Documents, but misplaced it directly onto the sidebar. I am now unable to move the Sidebar item into Documents, or to drag it to Trash. Thanks for any help!

Two finger click the sidebar item, and select remove from sidebar.

If you have a two button mouse, right click the sidebar item, and select remove from sidebar.

Or, Ctrl-click the sidebar item, and select remove from sidebar.

Drag it to the Desktop. It disappears when you release it.
