I am looking for a way to set the finder window size and make it ALWAYS open to that size... even the set size & relaunch via dock does not hold true all of the time. is there an app that will reapply this in the background? thanks

What I'm doing is the following (at least in my case, it remembers it like 99% of the time):
  1. Adjust the window to the size you want
  2. Open a new window with "command + N"
  3. Close the old window
  4. Close the new window
This at least works for me 👍

My finder windows are always different sizes as some folders have really long filenames and others do not. One size fits all doesn't work in my case. Hitting the green button with option or command gets things to fit the way I want in the window.

You can use FinderFix for this. It allows you to set the size of the windows, sidebar and position on screen, among other things. FinderFix is free right now, as it is in beta (where it's been for at least a year or so) and works great.

😍 FinderFix + XtraFinder are the perfect combo! thanks a TON!! only thing i have left to figure out is how to set a global view for ALL future finder windows/dir. I want all 128x128 icons grouped by type and sorted by name in each grouping. know of any tools that set global view customized settings?

This usually works for me in MacOS Ventura:
1. Open a new Finder window;

2. Resize the window to the size you want (however don't move the window to your desired location yet);

3. To lock the location and size:

A. start by pressing the Command (⌘)and Alt/Option keys together
and drag the window to your desired location;
B. release your mouse button first then release the Command (⌘) and
Alt /Option keys second;

4. Close resized window;

5. Any Finder windows opened after this will open at that size.
