Finder sorting on MacOS column view (as it's the only one I use) seems pretty broken to me.
I usually sort by Date Modified, this shows folders I haven't gone near in years near the top now.
Does hierarchy work?
Finder/Menu/View - usually does all
Finder/Menu/View/Show View Options - Usually applies to the folder you've selected

Oh I remember back in the day on IRC #macintosh the bashing Finder got from the early days of OSX... things haven't changed much, it seems. However, Tahoe seems to have regressed this to a laughable state.

There's two ways to sort each column: ascending and descending. Click the column header again to switch the sorting.

Or is the issue that the dates don't change on the folders? Or is it that they do, even though you haven't touched them?
