Finder Tags on Apps in 10.10

Fellas,

Two questions for 10.10 users.

1. can you apply finder tags to applications bought from the mac app store in Yosemite without changing the permissions?

Drives me nuts in Mavericks.

2. If you put a smart folder in the dock, does it work as a smart folder? In 10.9 they work for a while then eventually turn into unresponsive draw icons.
