Finder: View Options inheritance and "Use as Default"

A bit confused at the default view options and all its settings.

If I'm in list view and I select "Use as Defaults," does this mean that every other list view folder will share the same appearance?

What does Browse in list view apply to? If I'm not mistaken, this means that any sub-folders I go into from there will also be in list view?
