Hi,

I would appreciate any help. Hopefully this is a simple issue that I am just missing something. Using 10.5.6

Why in finder are all the dates listed with Month/Day only? How do I get the year as well. I have many documents that span years and the only way to get the most current one is to open them. I tried to sort by date, but it only sorts the month not year.

Thanks for any help

Chris

Yes. I view in list mode. I see [month, day] time

I really just want month and year. Any way to fix this?

It is the same in every program. Not just the stand alone finder. My main issue is when I try to open a spreadsheet or document.

Thanks

Sounds like I changed a setting at some point. Does anyone know how to make the year visible again?

Thanks

The year is there in list view if you make the field wide enough (or narrow enough). The Finder will display as much as this:

Wednesday, January 14, 2009, 7:56 AM

Or as little as this:

1/14/09

I don't know if it's relevant, but did you ever customize the date display? Preferences -> International -> Formats

I was going to suggest that, myself. Even if you don't remember changing anything you may want to check this out. That really sounds like it is the issue.
