I did a clean install on my mac mini and the first thing I noticed when I transferred all my stuff back was that if I open a folder full of files it will invariably display it as a jumbled mess of overlapped files and icons.
Not a problem I thought, just cmd & J and change it to display in order etc and get it to 'always open' like that.
Problem is, that is fine if I directly navigate in to a folder I have set up before, but if i go into a sub folder that is set up differently i.e. from list view into tile and then navigate back, the finder window forgets the previous window's display settings, so i get tile rather than list.
I have manually gone through all my folders and adjusted the display settings and checked the remember box, but the problem is still apparent.
In any event, it was never like that at all on Tiger - the jumbled icon business is the worst, it should never do that from the start surely - and then it should remember it all.
