Finder Window Not Complete

Hello there. I did a reinstall of Tiger onto an external drive yesterday, and then used disk utility to restore the external partition to my internal hard drive. Everything seems to work fine, except for one thing. When I double click on the drive icon on the desktop, the finder window is missing the sidebar, the top menu bar, and the brushed metal:

Click on the pill-shaped button in the upper right corner of the Finder window.

Think I have seen that somewhere before....
