Since upgrading to Lion from Snow Leopard my Finder window has disappeared. It shows briefly if I swipe between desktops, but doesn't stay on any of them.

If I click on Finder in the dock the top toolbar turns to Finder but no window shows. If I go to File > Open , nothing shows. Naturally this makes selecting files rather difficult.

I've got it to show by typing "killall Finder" in the terminal, but this only lasts until I shut down. When I restart, it has disappeared again.

Any suggestions welcome.

Have you tried repairing disk permissions?

It repaired a bunch of things, but when I restarted the Finder window disappeared again. Only came back after typing "killall Finder".

Very strange. Everything else works perfectly.
