Hey.

Just formatted my HD and now, for the first time ever, I have finder windows living their own life.

When opening the applications window by the short command cmd+shift+a the window appears like on the left but opening any other folder in the same way (via short commands) the window appears normal.

Is there anything that i can do to fix it back to the standard layout?

I think if you press command+j (or right click) when the window is open, you should be able to access the option to always open as icons. It is under 'show view options'

You may need to apple+1 to toggle it to icon view though.

Hope that makes sense..:)

Thanks, figured it out by just checking out the menus a bit, goes to show why you shouldnt ask for help if you havent tried to solve it yourself first.

Thanks anyways Windowpain.

Don't worry, most people do this. My brother is a sucker for it, really annoying when he asks me something that is in the menu bar and he never even searched for it
