Hi, I'm new here so forgive me if this has been discussed in a previous thread. If it has please point me to those threads. :)

I'm trying to find all my audio files on my mac so that I can go through and delete stuff that I don't want.

I have a music collection that takes up 38.15 GB of space. When I go into my "About This Mac" option and go into "Storage", it lists that there is 87.01 GB of Audio being used.

I have other programs that run audio, such as pro tools 10. I'm wondering if there is a way to find every single audio file in my computer without typing extensions of the programs using said audio files. Or if there are any third party programs that will locate audio files on a mac.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

  • Open up a Finder window
  • Hit CMD+F to bring up a new search
  • Under the first search criteria under "Kind" select "Music" in the drop down menu. Make sure This Mac is also selected (it should be by default)
You can also search using other criteria using Finder. There's a ton of info/help on using Finder, a Google search will usually yield a lot of good info on using it.

It worked!

I have been trying to get rid of all my duplicate music for MONTHS and this will finally help me. THANKyouthankYOUthankYOU!!!:apple:
